OUR STORY

The other side of the coin.

Every family has a money story. Mine was written long before I understood it.

THE MONEY STORY

Every family has a money story.

I grew up watching how money moved through a family. Not just what was spent and what was saved, but what was felt.

The silences around it. The conversations that were never really about money at all. The rules nobody wrote down but everybody followed.

By the time I was an adult I had inherited a set of reflexes about money that I had never chosen and could not have explained. It took years, and a career spent advising other families, to see that I was not unusual.

Every client who sits across from an advisor brings that same inheritance with them. None of it appears on a risk questionnaire. All of it shows up in March, when the market falls and the phone rings.

THE PROFESSION

We perfected one side of the coin.

Our profession has become extraordinarily good at the market and the plan.

We model, allocate, stress test and rebalance with precision.

We have been far less curious about the person, and yet the person is where so much of the outcome is decided.

AwareFi exists to turn the coin over.

THE OTHER PROBLEM

And we lived the compliance problem.

Years of practice taught us something else too.

The work of keeping a client file current, the KYC updates, the suitability notes, the investment policy statement, the review dates, consumes hours every week and costs firms real money.

Too often it happens after the conversation, from memory, in three different systems.

Technology can fix that. One clean, simple process that records everything as it happens.

And once the process is right, something better becomes possible: the review that used to feel like paperwork becomes the most valuable conversation you have with a client all year.

Better conversations build deeper relationships. Deeper relationships are where referrals come from.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Three things we believe.

01

Knowing a client well is not a soft skill. It is the job.

Everything else we do rests on it.

02

Compliance should be the record of a good conversation.

Not a second job done after it.

03

The best time to plan for a client's worst week is before it arrives.

In a calm office, with a clear head, together.

If you advise families for a living and any of this sounds familiar, we would genuinely like to hear from you.
